Live Intervention in Public Space

GRAB THE PILLOW is an artistic participation offensive by the artist team hoelb/hoeb, which involves numerous Viennese institutions and expert groups of social practice/care in the artistic work process. It is implemented through an urban space intervention in which a large collection of printed seat cushions are distributed at special anchor points on Praterstern and contextualized and mediated through a multi-layered framework program. The artifacts function as low-threshold displays and mediation Trojans. Labels and QR codes attached to the pillows lead directly to processed experiential reports, thematic artworks and 3D animations.

GRAB THE PILLOW takes marginalized areas of life (24h care, isolated consciousness positions, palliative work, …) as a starting point to test new forms of knowledge and art mediation.

GRAB THE PILLOWist eine künstlerische Beteiligungsoffensive des Künstlerteam hoelb/hoeb, die zahlreiche Wiener Institutionen und Expertengruppen der sozialen Praxis/Plege in den künstlerischen Arbeitsprozess einbindet. Die Umsetzung erfolgt durch eine Stadtraumintervention, in der eine große Ansammlung bedruckter Sitzkissen an speziellen Ankerpunkten am Praterstern verteilt und durch ein vielschichtiges Rahmenprogramm kontextualisiert und vermittelt werden. Die Artefakte fungieren als niederschwellige Displays und Vermittlungstrojaner. An den Kissen angebrachte Etiketten und QR-Codes führen direkt zu aufbereiteten Erfahrungsberichten, themenbezogenen Kunstwerken und 3D-Animationen.

GRAB THE PILLOW nimmt marginalisierte Lebensbereiche (24h-Pflege, isolierte Bewusstseinlagen, Palliativarbeit, …) zum Ausgangspunkt, um neue Formen der Wissens- und Kunstvermittlung zu erproben.
