Die Ausstellung Sleepy Politics rückt ab den 21. März 2023 die Tatsache in den Fokus, dass der schlafende Körper in der neoliberalen Ideologie als träge Antagonisten des sonst so arbeitstüchtigen Körpers gilt, obwohl Menschen ein Drittel ihrer Lebenszeit schlafend verbringen. Das macht deutlich wie sehr das menschliche Schlafbedürfnis von sozialen und ökonomischen Zugängen des wachen Lebens abhängig ist. In der von Francesca Romana Audretsch und Lotti Brockmann kuratierten Ausstellung wird der Schlaf hingegen zum Akteur und als aktiver Schauplatz politischer Verhältnisse und einer Praxis des Widerstands verhandelt. Es entsteht ein Raum, in dem Fragestellungen nach der emanzipatorischen Gestaltung des Zusammenlebens unter den Bedingungen sozialer, ökologischer und politischer Krisen gestellt wird.

Starting on March 21, 2023, at 6 pm, the exhibition Sleepy Politics highlights the fact that the sleeping body is regarded in neoliberal ideology as an inert antagonist of the otherwise hard-working body, even though people spend a third of their lives asleep. This highlights the extent to which the human need for sleep is dependent on social and economic accession to waking life. In the exhibition curated by Francesca Romana Audretsch and Lotti Brockmann, on the other hand, sleep becomes an actor and is negotiated as an active arena of political negotiations and a practice of resistance. A space is created in which questions are raised about the emancipatory shaping of coexistence under the conditions of social, ecological and political crises.
