FLUCC - Center for Arts & Communities ist 2002 als Fluc aus einer transdisziplinären Künstler:innen-Initiative entstanden. Kunst, die intermedial, soziokulturell, soundpolitisch, genderbewusst und multidivers in einen urbanen Dialog tritt, ist seit Beginn fixer Bestandteil der FLUCC-Aktivitäten. Durch die derzeitige Neuaufstellung und Transformation in ein offenes, soziokulturelles, partizipatives und experimentelles Kulturzentrum soll dieser Raumgedanke verstärkt und weiter ausgebaut werden. Unsere bisherigen Stärken liegen in alternativer, experimenteller und elektronischer Musik, in Konzerten - all das, was im weitesten Sinn als Musik- und Clubkultur zu subsumieren ist, sowie im Bereich der zeitgenössischen Kunst.

War das FLUCC bislang meist in den Abend-und Nachtstunden aktiv, so werden nun die Räume auch tagsüber nutzbar sein. Im Zuge dieses Umwandlungsprozess wird das Fluc zumFLUCC, das zweite C steht fortan für Community. Ziel ist es Räume zu schaffen, welche die heutige Gesellschaft dringend braucht. Um sich auszuprobieren, auszutauschen, kennenzulernen, Grenzen abzubauen, um Handlungsspielräume zu erweitern.

Das FLUCC, zentral gelegen direkt am Praterstern, bietet zwei barrierefreie Räume mit Tageslicht und insgesamt zwei Bühnen und eine Tribüne für diverse Veranstaltungen mit technischer Ausstattung (Licht & Ton, Projektionsflächen innen und außen). Unten mit ca. 300m2 Fläche und oben mit ca. 150m2 Fläche und im Außenraum zwei Terrassen mit je ca. 100m2 Fläche. Die Weiterentwicklung mit funktionalem Mobiliar und flexibler Infrastruktur für Tanz- und Theaterproben werden gerade sukzessive realisiert.

FLUCC - Center for Arts & Communities emerged in 2002 as Fluc from a transdisciplinary artists’ initiative. Art that enters into an intermedial, socio-cultural, sound-political, gender-conscious and multidiverse urban dialogue has been a fixed component of FLUCC’s activities since the beginning. Through the current reorganization and transformation into an open, socio-cultural, participatory and experimental cultural center, this spatial idea is to be strengthened and further developed. Our strengths to date have been in alternative, experimental and electronic music, in concerts - all that can be subsumed as music and club culture in the broadest sense, as well as in the field of contemporary art.

While FLUCC has so far been active mostly in the evening and night hours, the rooms will now also be available for use during the day. In the course of this transformation process, the Fluc will become the FLUCC, the second C henceforth standing for Community. The goal is to create spaces that today’s society urgently needs. To try things out, to exchange ideas, to get to know each other, to break down barriers, to expand the scope for action.

The FLUCC, centrally located directly at Praterstern, offers two barrier-free rooms with daylight and a total of two stages and a grandstand for various events with technical equipment (light & sound, projection surfaces inside and outside). Downstairs with approx. 300m2 area and upstairs with approx. 150m2 area and in the outdoor space two terraces with approx. 100m2 area each. Further development with functional furniture and flexible infrastructure for dance and theater rehearsals are currently being gradually realized.
