StoffwechselReparaturClub

Stoffwechsel’Reparatur’Club setzt sich zum Ziel, den ökosozialen Stoffwechsel des Viertels rund um das FLUCC durch das Kitten der Brüche zwischen Natur und Kultur, funktionalen städtischen Bereichen und grünen Umgebungen, menschlichen und nichtmenschlichen sowie sozialen, kulturellen und politischen Entfremdungen wiederherzustellen. Welche Formen der Entfremdung erleben wir tagtäglich und wie kann die Kunst zu ihrer Überwindung beitragen? In der Gemeinschaftsarbeit erfahrene Künstlerinnen* aka Sessionistas, die das Spiel mit Mehrsprachigkeit, Polyphonie und multiplen Identitäten als widerständig verstehen und anwenden, werden einen Raum für Austausch und gemeinsames Verlernen eröffnen. Im Juni bieten Radiojournalistin Maiada Hadaia und die Künstlerin Nicole Sabella ein Sound Mapping des FLUCC-Umfelds an, das zu Radiokunst auf FLUT Radio () wird: Was können wir aus diesen Klängen über die ökosoziale Verfasstheit des Zusammenlebens in der FLUCC-Umgebung lernen?

Im Juli ( lädt Künstlerin Ziliia Kanchurina zu einer wöchentlichen House-Warming-Party in der FLUCC Marina. Inspiriert von den indigenen Lebenspraktiken ihrer baschkirischen Community bringt sie uns mit Filz als künstlerisches Medium in Berührung. House Warming bezieht sich auf die neue soziale Funktion, die das FLUCC als Ankerzentrum übernimmt, und auf künstlerische Strategien im Umgang mit der anhaltenden Energiekrise in der EU. Es regt dazu an, über neue Wege nachzudenken, wie wir unsere “safer Spaces” auf ungiftige und energiesparende Weise warm halten können. Nachbar:innen sind eingeladen, sich mit uns zusammenzusetzen, eine Tasse Tee zu trinken und die soziale Kunst des Filzens zu erlernen.

Künstler:innen:

Maiada Hadaia ist passionierte multilinguale Radiojournalistin, Audioproduzentin Sprecherin, Moderatorin, Trainerin und Lektorin u.a. in der Ausbildung bei Radio Orange 94.0, das Freie Radio in Wien, sowie an der Uni Wien. Maiada arbeitet an den Schnittstellen zu Medien und (außerschulischer) politischer Bildung und Wissenschaftskommunikation. Sie entwickelt und leitet Audioprojekte mit Fokus auf partizipativer feministischer Radio- und Podcast-Praxis, Technik und kritischer Pädagogik.

Ziliia Kanchurina ist eine multidisziplinäre Künstlerin* und Bühnenbildnerin*, die in ihrer Praxis u.a. Installation, Collage, Zeichnung, Malerei, Video oder Performance zusammenführt. 1992 im Dorf Yanybaevo in der Republik Baschkortostan geboren, lebt sie nun in Wien, wo sie sich an der an der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien in Kontextueller Malerei weiterbildet. Durch die Erfahrung von Diskriminierung als Baschkirin in Russland, liegt ein Fokus ihrer künstlerischen Arbeitsweise auf dekolonialen Praktiken.

Nicole Sabella ist bildende Künstlerin und Kunst- und Kulturvermittlerin. Ihre oft kollaborative künstlerische Forschungspraxis verwirklicht sich an den soziopolitischen Schnittstellen von Körper, Sprache, Stimme und Raum und verdichtet sie zu so genannten Choreo:sphären (choreo:spheres). Ausgehend von feministisch-intersektionellen, performativen und oft kollaborativen Strategien entwickelt sie Liveperformances und performative Soundinstallationen, oft in partizipativen Workshopformaten, darunter PRO:TEST SOUND ORIGINATOR (seit 2016) oder das SHIFT-Projekt Versagen verlernen (2020-2021).

MetabolismRepairClub

Metabolism’Repair’Club aims to restore the ecosocial metabolism of the neighborhood around FLUCC by cementing the fractures between nature and culture, functional urban areas and green environments, human and non-human, and social, cultural and political alienations. What forms of alienation do we experience every day and how can art contribute to overcoming them? Artists aka sessionistas experienced in collaborative work, who understand and apply the play of multilingualism, polyphony and multiple identities as resistant, will open a space for exchange and shared unlearning. In June, radio journalist Maiada Hadaia and artist Nicole Sabella will offer a sound mapping of the FLUCC environment that will become radio art on FLUT Radio (): What can we learn from these sounds about the ecosocial constitution of coexistence in the FLUCC environment? In July, artist Ziliia Kanchurina invites us to a weekly house-warming party at FLUCC Marina. Inspired by the indigenous living practices of her Bashkir community, she brings us into contact with felt as an artistic medium. House Warming relates to the new social function FLUCC is taking on as an anchor center and to artistic strategies for dealing with the ongoing energy crisis in the EU. It encourages thinking about new ways to keep our “safer spaces” warm in non-toxic and energy-saving ways. Neighbor:ins are invited to join us for a cup of tea and to learn the social art of felting.

Artists:

Maiada Hadaia is a passionate multilingual radio journalist, audio producer speaker, presenter, trainer and editor, among others, in training at Radio Orange 94.0, the free radio in Vienna, as well as at the University of Vienna. Maiada works at the intersection of media and (extracurricular) political education and science communication. She develops and directs audio projects with a focus on participatory feminist radio and podcast practice, technology and critical pedagogy.

Ziliia Kanchurina is a multidisciplinary artist* and set designer* whose practice includes installation, collage, drawing, painting, video or performance and performance. Born in 1992 in the village of Yanybaevo in the Republic of Bashkortostan, she now lives in Vienna, where she continues her education in Contextual Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Experiencing discrimination as a Bashkir in Russia, one focus of her artistic practice is on decolonial practices.

Nicole Sabella is a visual artist and arts and culture facilitator. Her often collaborative artistic research practice materializes at the socio-political intersections of body, language, voice and space, condensing them into what she calls choreo:spheres (choreo:spheres). Based on feminist-intersectional, performative and often collaborative strategies, she develops live performances and performative sound installations, often in participatory workshop formats, including PRO:TEST SOUND ORIGINATOR (since 2016) or the SHIFT project Versagen verlernen (2020-2021).

COMMON ROOMS at FLUCC

COMMON ROOMS ist der Titel der im Jahr 2023 neu initiierten Reihe ”Community based Art “, die ausgewählte Künstler:innen und Kollektive mit diversen Communities und Nachbarschaften rund um den Praterstern und darüber hinaus durch partizipative Kunstprojekte verbindet. Kollaborative künstlerische Praktiken mit dem Fokus auf intergenerative, interkulturelle und partizipative Kunstproduktion nehmen durch COMMON ROOMS im FLUCC ihren Ausgangspunkt und wirken durch gezielte künstlerische Interventionen auch auf den öffentlichen Raum in vielfältiger Weise ein.

COMMON ROOMS steht im Zeichen der Demokratisierung der Kultur und der Schaffung eines möglichst barrierefreien Zugangs zur Kunst. Partizipatorische Kunst in einem gemeinschaftlichen Rahmen, setzt auf Interaktion und Dialog und arbeitet mit dem emanzipatorischen Potenzial der Kunst für gesellschaftliche Prozesse, um soziale Teilhabe zu fördern und eine diskursoffene Gesellschaft zu stärken.

COMMON ROOMS is the title of the ”Community based Art “ series newly initiated in 2023, which connects selected artists:inside and collectives with diverse communities and neighborhoods around Praterstern and beyond through participatory art projects.Collaborative artistic practices with a focus on intergenerative, intercultural and participatory art production take their starting point through COMMON ROOMS at FLUCC and also have an impact on public space in various ways through targeted artistic interventions.

COMMON ROOMS stands under the sign of democratizing culture and creating access to art that is as barrier-free as possible. Participatory art in a community setting, relies on interaction and dialogue and works with the emancipatory potential of art for social processes to promote social participation and strengthen a discourse-open society.
